As our company grows, so must our charitable support. Our mission is to ensure that people around the world take control of their air quality through simple, affordable and accurate technology solutions – making radon and indoor air quality monitors as common as smoke detectors.
Education efforts to raise awareness of the dangers of radon and other harmful indoor air pollutants, including carbon dioxide and volatile organic compounds (TVOCs), play a significant role in allowing us to further our mission toward healthy indoor air quality for all.
This is why in 2019, we are now supporting both the American Lung Association and the British Lung Foundation, both of whom we believe can help make a difference.
Why Airthings chose the American Lung Association
As a small company, we take our charitable partnerships very seriously. We make sure that our company ethos aligns with theirs, and that our donation has a valuable impact.
That is why the American Lung Association is a natural choice for us. Our radon detectors monitor levels of radon, the second leading cause of lung cancer and the Lung Association is devoted to ultimately defeating lung cancer. To defeat lung cancer, the Lung Association provides support for thousands of Americans and funds vital research into the disease. Our team decided to ask that our donations went specifically toward the Lung Association’s LUNG FORCE initiative, which is funding lung cancer research.
Why Airthings chose the British Lung Foundation
As we grow, we want to expand our reach. The BLF Living Well Alliance helps to improve the lives of those with lung conditions across the UK. Their support services provide help with people suffering from many conditions including COPD, pneumonia, lung cancer and many more. They offer over 200 Breathe Easy Support groups across the UK, receive over 20,000 support calls annually and have over 36,000 online community members.
Our pledge: American Lung Association's LUNG FORCE
We teamed up with the American Lung Association in October 2017, where we reached our annual donation goal of $25,000. After such a successful first year, we are honored to continue our support.
From October 1, 2018 through September 30, 2019, Airthings will donate $1 for each Corentium Home and Airthings Wave sold on Airthings.com with a minimum donation of $25,000 to the American Lung Association’s LUNG FORCE initiative to support lung cancer research.
Our pledge: British Lung Foundation; Living Well Alliance
This is the first year Airthings has partnered with the British Lung Foundation’s Living Well Alliance. Our partnership began in October 2018, making a difference for people across the UK who are living with lung conditions.
Our sponsorship goals:
As a company, we are concerned with the prevailing dangers of radon and other indoor air pollutants, which is key to our selection of partnerships. We create awareness, educate, and enable homeowners and businesses to protect against these dangers through accessible and reliable solutions.
Our goal is to create a global footprint of donations and sponsorships around the world. Cancer research and education are always in need of funding and until there is a cure, we won't stop. Supporting these non-profit organizations will help advance their work toward better health for all of us, as well as facilitate and encourage the importance of good indoor air quality.
