Collaboration designed to improve air quality in school, offices across US

OSLO (Dec. 13, 2023) – Airthings – a global leader in indoor air quality monitoring and energy-saving solutions – has announced a new partnership with Soter Technologies, a leading provider of innovative environmental sensor and software technology. This agreement integrates the Airthings for Business solution into Soter’s portfolio to support Soter’s FlySense® devices.

This partnership will include both domestic and international markets from the US-based operations for Soter, bringing Airthings’ technology to the existing platform. Airthings technology is capable of monitoring radon, particulate matter (PM), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), carbon dioxide (CO2), humidity, temperature and pressure, as well as noise and light. These sensors deliver live measurements to the Airthings dashboard for analytics and insights.

Soter’s technology builds upon Airthings’ with the FlySense vape detection platform –  which is designed to detect the chemical signature of emissions from vape pens, and issue autonomous alerts utilizing a range of network connectivity options. FlySense devices are inherently privacy aware and do not pose any risk to occupants in areas such as locker rooms and bathrooms. This partnership inherently creates a comprehensive and competitive indoor air quality monitoring service for various markets, including education, commercial, real estate and entertainment venues.

“Air quality in the education setting is paramount to the mission here at Airthings,” said Oyvind Birkenes, CEO of Airthings. “We know that by increasing air quality, we are happier, more productive and have greater health overall. This partnership exemplifies a unified mission for these outcomes.

“Airthings’ robust line of monitoring devices are proven in their ability to accurately monitor air quality in the education environment,” said Derek Peterson, CEO of Soter. We are eager to work with a trusted partner at a time when indoor air quality is top-of-mind for so many organizations and their constituents.”
