Airthings for Business solution enables California schools to meet CalSHAPE air quality monitoring guidelines
(Oslo, Norway – May 16, 2023) Airthings, the global leader in indoor air quality monitoring and energy-saving solutions, announced today that the company signed a deal with Russell Sigler and Pacificwest Energy Solutions to deploy nearly 5000 air quality monitoring devices in schools across California.
The roll-out falls under the California Schools Healthy Air, Plumbing and Efficiency Program (CalSHAPE), organized by the California Energy Commission, which provides schools grants to supply all classrooms with CO2 monitors. CalSHAPE was established by Assembly Bill 841 in 2020 and authorizes funding to more than 10,000 California educational institutions for assessing, maintaining, and repairing or upgrading school ventilation systems to ensure that they meet the classroom ventilation requirements.
