AIRTHINGS’ EXTENDED 5-YEAR WARRANTY COVERAGE
Airthings’ mission is to help you improve your indoor air quality, and we want you to be able to count on our products to help you breathe better throughout their lifetime.
For that reason, we are now offering customers who elect to register their products that were purchased after August 1, 2022, the opportunity to extend the warranty period to five years. This extended coverage reaffirms our ambition to provide the best indoor air quality products on the market.
Please note that this extra coverage is in addition to your standard warranty that applies even if you choose not to register your product. Product registration is voluntary, and failure to register your product does not diminish your rights under Airthings’ standard product warranty. Information about your standard product warranty can be found here. Your rights under applicable consumer protection legislation are also in addition to the standard warranty and extra coverage and remain unaffected if you do not register your product.

Register your product for extra warranty coverage
Airthings’ standard warranty period covering defects in workmanship and/or materials is one year from the original date of purchase, with some exceptions in certain jurisdictions, for example, two years in the EU/EEA.
All you have to do to make sure your consumer device(s) is covered for 5 years from the original purchase date is to register your device at https://www.airthings.com/register-my-device within 30 days of purchase. Please have your valid proof of purchase available, as you will be asked for information from it and may be requested to upload a copy of it. Please note, valid forms of proof of purchase include your order number, sales receipt, or invoice from online purchases made through Airthings’ website or a copy of your sales receipt or invoice from Airthings’ authorized sellers that shows a description of the product along with its price.
Registration must take place within 30 days of purchasing the product. The extra coverage automatically begins at the time your standard warranty ends, bringing total coverage up to five years. Unless prohibited by applicable law, this warranty only applies to the original end-user purchaser.
Besides the longer protection for your device, when you register your device, you can sign up to receive additional benefits including product news, special offers from Airthings and our partners, special tips, and recommendations for improving your air quality and mitigating any issues identified by your devices. In addition, we will be able to contact you more quickly in the event of a safety alert or product recall.
Exclusions
As with Airthings’ standard warranty, Airthings’ extra coverage only applies to Airthings’ consumer products and does not apply to ‘Airthings for Business’ products or commercial products. Because Airthings cannot control the quality of Products sold by unauthorized sellers, the coverage applies only to Products that you purchased from Airthings or an Airthings authorized seller, unless otherwise prohibited by law. Airthings reserves the right to reject claims from purchasers regarding Products purchased from unauthorized sellers, including unauthorized Internet sites.
In addition, the following issues are not covered:
- Any Product that has been lost or stolen;
- Batteries and charger cables/adapters;
- Accidental loss of or damage to the products, including dropping the products;
- Any Product having a defect or damage due to misuse including, but not limited to, installation, placement or operation contrary to Airthings’ written installation or operation instructions or normal care and improper or inadequate handling and storage;
- Any Product having a defect or damage due negligence including, but not limited to, falls, extreme temperatures, high humidity, or water exposure;
- Damage as a result of unauthorized repairs or alteration(s) made by a party other than Airthings;
- Normal wear and tear;
- Connection issues due to circumstances outside Airthings’ control, e.g., evolving WiFi or Bluetooth standards that are not supported by the products;
- Products used in regions where the products are not certified/authorized for use;
- Products used for commercial use, including leasing to consumers;
- Products otherwise used in violation of our standard terms of service;
- Unforeseen circumstances or causes beyond Airthings’ control, including but not limited to catastrophe, fault or negligence of the purchaser or any third party, acts of God, war, terrorism, riot, acts of civil or military authorities, fire, floods, or accidents; and
- Any Product that has not been paid for in full with a valid proof of purchase from Airthings or an Airthings authorized seller.
How to make a claim after your standard warranty has expired
To make a claim under this extended coverage, without undue delay after you have detected an issue with your product that you believe is covered, please contact our Customer Support team at support@airthings.com. The team will provide you with the next steps. You will be required to submit a copy of the original proof of purchase of the device if you have not already done so and a recent picture of the front and back of the product that includes the serial number of the device.
Airthings’ support team will review your request and aims to send you a confirmation email within seven business days. If we have concluded that your product is required to be returned for further examination, we will provide you with a return material authorization number (RMA number). In such case shipping instructions will be provided. We may require you to cover the cost of shipping to us. The products must be packed and shipped appropriately to prevent damage, and we recommend that the package be insured.
We reserve the right to cancel the return if the product is not received within 30 days after we issue the RMA number. Further return instructions may be provided on the website or in the confirmation email.
In the event of inconsistency or discrepancy between the information provided when making the claim and the actual returned product, Airthings reserves the right to modify the information in its discretion to match the returned product.
Before we request you to return the product, we might require you to carry out a firmware upgrade for your product or undertake other procedures to remedy the issue.
After we receive the product, if we conclude that the product had a defect, we will repair or replace it and ship to you with our standard shipping method at no additional charge. Any and all customs’ related formalities, levies, or duties of any nature whatsoever shall be borne by you.
If we determine a product that has been sent in has no defects, we will be entitled to charge a device check and shipping fee before we return the device to you.
Please note that if we repair or replace the device, the warranty period is not extended.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
There are no warranties which extend beyond those stated herein. Any implied warranties that may be applicable to Products, including implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are limited in duration to the duration of this warranty. Some states, provinces or countries do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you. Under no circumstances shall Airthings be liable for any special, incidental, or consequential damages based upon breach of this warranty, breach of contract, or strict liability. Some States or countries do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state, province to province, or country to country.
